Meet the Crew

Colleen Barneman

President

 colleen@brevardsoffit.com

In 1985, Ed Barneman had an idea to start a construction company in Brevard County. At the time, most of our trade was being completed by framers and roofers. Ed had a vision of a company that could improve the quality of work being done, but also be rooted in fair, sustainable, and successful business practices. His history with sheet metal work, and previous career of managing grocery stores, provided Ed with the know-how to get it done. Well, almost! Luckily, he was married to a brilliant accountant with a sharp pencil, and the ability to keep finances in check! Colleen went along for the ride back in 1985, and what a ride it has been. Since then, Ed and Colleen were able to build a company with a strong, family-based foundation, that prides itself on relationships. Those relationships, with builders and homeowners alike, have been the cornerstone of our service philosophy at BSS, with Colleen being at the center. She looks to her faith in God as her guiding light as the beacon for this wild ride. That crazy road has led Colleen to now, where she has four children, nine grandchildren, and an abundance of gratitude. As she winds down her unexpected career in construction, Colleen looks forward to retiring soon and spending even more time with her grandchildren, enjoying coffee on the back porch, and maybe even some travelling!

Robert Barneman

Vice-President

 robbyb@brevardsoffit.com

Shortly after moving to Brevard, Ed and Colleen Barneman received a surprise package from the stork! That surprise package was their son, Rob. Rob grew up in BSS Exteriors. Whether it was playing in the playpen at the office as a baby, working summers with installers as a helper, or coming home from college to deliver storm panels on the weekends, Rob has always been around the company. So, it made perfect sense that, after college, Rob would find himself back at BSS. Watching his dad grow the business from inception, Rob developed his business sense, but also cultivated an ambition towards diversity within the trades. This spirit was the driving force behind the expansion into manufacturing storm shutter products in 2014, becoming a wholesale storm shutter provider focused on the contractor. Rob is also very proud of his vision and goals for the company coming into the digital age of construction. In 2020, BSS Exteriors began to implement a completely digital, streamlined, construction management program. This program includes mobile devices for installers and technicians, a paperless workflow system, and highly efficient financial management software, all of which are something not considered normal for a typical "aluminum contractor." Rob is married to his best friend, with whom they have 2 beautiful daughters. On the weekends, you can find Rob tinkering with wood-working projects, playing drums at church, or in Gainesville...down "where the old Gators play!"

Al Booth

Production Manager

 al@brevardsoffit.com

BSS Exteriors was started in 1985. Not long after that, a young teenager responded to an ad in the newspaper for a part-time installer position. That teenager, was Al Booth, and the position would prove to alter the course of his life. Al worked for many, many years alongside Ed Barneman, our founder, learning the trade and developing a keen business sense. Through the years, Al started his own business and enjoyed many successes, putting these skills to work. His hard work ethic and loyalty is unmatched. Now, after all these years, Al has come full-circle back to the beginning, working alongside Rob, Ed's son, to grow BSS even more. He enjoys camping, boating, and listening to music. On Saturdays, he can be found rooting on the Florida Gators with his girlfriend, Amy. He also has one daughter who attends Miami University in Ohio.

Scott Weaver

Sales Manager

 scott@brevardsoffit.com

Scott may be the sales manager at BSS, but that is a great departure from what Scott has done for most of his career. For nearly 25 years, Scott worked early hours managing unload/loading operations at a well-known shipping company. (Hint: it has a lot of brown!) Being a part of such a large corporation has given Scott a complete understanding for systems and processes. In 2018, upon retiring from UPS, Scott went full-time at BSS (part-time since 2013), bringing along with him that very understanding to help grow our sales. Scott has a lovely wife, two amazing daughters, and even a grand-puppy! Scott spends most of his free time coaching high school softball, but generally never stops going! His interests include watching classic horror films, enjoying all genres of music, barbecuing, and making your home renovation dreams come to life!

He is a family man, who was born and raised right here in Brevard County. He loves spending time with his wife and three children, as well as riding ATV's.
